This facial serum is carefully formulated with mature, dry skin in mind, but it would be effectively suitable for all skin types.

We started the serum base with pomegranate seed oil. Pomegranate seed oil is perfect for those with dry and sensitive skin because it provides soothing and hydrating relief. This is such a balanced, universal oil that it can even be used on oily skin with positive results.

The next component is Meadowfoam seed oil, a lightweight oil that contains antioxidants that soaks into skin quickly. It is known to prevent skin dehydration and to make skin “appear” younger.

Then Kukui Nut oil is added to also moisturize and reduce the appearance of crows feet and age spots. This amazing oil comes from the South Pacific islands and has been used by the natives for their skin and hair care for generations. We were introduced to this oil while visiting Maui and immediately fell in love with its wonderful qualities for after-sun skin care.

And now we've included Castor oil! Castor oil is all the rage lately so we've been personally testing it for over a year to find out if there really are benefits that hold up to the hype. And we can honestly say we are quite pleased with the results--so much so that we are excited to share them with you. Castor oil is a thicker, viscous oil on its own. But when combined with all the lighter oils in our serum, it provides all of its superb benefits without leaving a heavy, greasy residue. Some of those benefits include:

• Deep Hydration: Its high concentration of ricinoleic acid (85-95% of its fatty acid content) helps maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance and softens dry, flaky skin. It is also beneficial for problematic, oily or sensitive skin by providing gentle support.
• Aging Support: By plumping the skin with hydration and potentially supporting collagen production, it can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When skin is well hydrated, it looks fuller and smoother, which can make fine lines less noticeable. (This is the result that was most noticeable in our testing).
  
• Barrier Repair: It strengthens the skin barrier protecting against environmental aggressors while still allowing the skin to breathe.

Finally, we infused a delicate blend of organic essential oils that were selected specifically for their skin-rejuvenating properties, such as lavender, geranium, helichrysum, frankincense and carrot seed. The serum is then rounded off with an extra drop or two of vitamin E.

This powerful serum comes in a 1 oz. cobalt glass bottle with a treatment pump for easy application. Just a couple small pumps is all it takes but you can easily adjust the amount to suit your needs. Apply it to a clean face at bedtime. It's even light enough to use under make up for an all-day glow.

Other uses our customers have discovered: This serum can be applied as a light dressing to dry or wet hair to help with dry, flyaway ends. Add it to a foot bath to soften, soothe and condition rough, cracked heels. It’s also wonderful for after-sun care thanks to the kukui, carrot seed and helichrysum oils.
